The robustness of the equipment, combined with low energy consumption and the highest efficiency, allow the construction of water features with the lowest environmental impact, and with the highest levels of safety. That is why we must observe, among others, the following precautions and precautions:

1. Ensure the functioning of the water treatment system
It is important to take into account periodic maintenance scheduled to ensure the durability of equipment and public health. The installation of a water treatment system is the first step, not only to ensure the greatest savings and health of the water in the fountain, but also to guarantee the greatest durability of the equipment. The water treatment system must work on at least two levels:

• physical filtering of particles, achieved through a sand filter and a pump with pre-filter;
• chemical treatment, to prevent the proliferation of bacteria, achieved through a dosage of a chemical compound.

Thus, filters should be washed frequently, as well as chemical added, such as chlorine or bromine, in the dosage.

2. Maintain good intervals in interventions
Depending on the complexity and size of the fountain, maintenance interventions should be carried out at least every two weeks. These interventions should include, among others, the following works:

• cleaning the water feature tank and removing trash or leaves;
• wash the sand filter;
• inspection of the electromechanical installation;
• take measurements of chlorine and pH levels.

Further more in-depth interventions may be considered, where necessary.

3. If in doubt consult the maintenance manual
Every water feature executed by Urbiágua is provided with a user and maintenance manual that should be consulted. In this manual there are several common faults that are easy to solve.
